The Lights of The Arno is set mostly in Florence, Italy. It’s a place that I have deep affection for because I lived there for a scholastic year from September 2010 to June 2011, and anyone will tell you that I am a fantastic evangelist for studying abroad (it’s the best, seriously.) Though not a direct outgrowth of my time there, I obviously could not have written The Lights of The Arno without living in Italy and soaking up all the culture, language, and art that it has to provide.
